This pink lake,Lake Retba ,or in French Lac Rose, is situated north of the Cap Vert Peninsula in Senegal, northeast of Dakar.It is found that cyanobacteria, a harmless halophilic bacteria found in the water is responsible for this pink colour.
As might be expected because it is habitable for a halophilic bacteria ,water has a very high salt level and this allows people to float effortlessly on the pink water, which seems dreamy (:
